Minnesota Reading Corps (MRC) is an AmeriCorps program focused on literacy. It is a statewide initiative to help every Minnesota child become a successful reader, and you can be a part of it! MRC is currently looking for people to serve in a preschool or elementary school to help children who are at risk for not reading at grade level. Why join Minnesota Reading Corps? You’ll learn the research behind teaching literacy and help to ensure our community’s children are literate. Other benefits include a modest stipend, an education award of up to $4,725, and health care and childcare assistance for full-time members. The ideal candidate is someone who has the desire to work with children, is available during daytime hours, wants to advance their career, and wants to give back to our community.
